Brightshine began over 60 years ago as a small Venetian blind cleaning and repair business. With decades of hands-on experience restoring blinds, we developed a deep understanding of what true quality looks like. So when we entered manufacturing, we already knew the standards and practices needed to create products built to last—minimising the need for repairs from the outset.
After owning the business for 10 years, Lynne and Wayne Watts expanded Brightshine into manufacturing, producing 25mm aluminium and 50mm/63mm timber venetians. Their expertise and commitment to excellence quickly showed in the quality of every blind leaving the factory.
As customer needs evolved, so did we. In 2008, demand for roller blinds surged. We responded by relocating to a larger factory in 2010, investing in a cutting table, and developing our own unique fabric range. We also brought on board highly experienced staff—many of whom have continued to work with us since then.
In 2012, the market shifted again, this time toward shutters. We embraced the change, sourcing an exceptional supplier who remains a trusted partner more than a decade later.
In 2015, ownership passed to Lynne and Wayne’s children, Hayley Thompson and Cameron Watts. Under their leadership, Brightshine has gone from strength to strength, navigating the challenges of recent economic cycles while remaining committed to quality and service. Our long-standing relationships with both commercial and residential customers are a cornerstone of our success—and a testament to the trust our community places in us.
Most recently, we’ve expanded into soft furnishings and drapery. Bringing texture, warmth, and style into our customers’ homes has been a natural and exciting next step in our journey.
