What are the minimum and maximum measurements I can have?
Please keep in mind that blinds can get heavy and wear on the componentry the bigger they are. We have our maximum measurements loaded into the Quote Tool and if your blind falls outside of this we recommend that you split the blind in two and we create one pelmet that sits across the front of the blind.
In some instances will can manufacture the blinds at larger sizes but we don’t recommend it. The one pelmet solution still looks stylish and it gives you added control over the light in the room. It will also mean that the componentry will last a lot longer as it doesn’t have such a weight on it.
Here are the measurements:
- Aluminium 25mm: 500mm (width) x 500mm (drop) up to 3000mm (width) x 3000mm (drop)
- Aluminium 50mm: 600mm (width) x 600mm (drop) up to 2800mm (width) x 2700mm (drop)
- Roller Blinds: from 600mm (width) to 3100mm (width) and from 900mm (drop) to 3000mm (drop) (again please put your specific measurements in the quote tool as not all measurements in between are recommended)
My window is above my stairs / bed, can I have longer controls than the depth of the window?
Yes of course! Just let us know when you’re submitting a quote, having a measurement or ordering via the phone how long you would like the controls to be.
I don't live in Auckland; can someone still measure for me?
Unfortunately our reps only service the Auckland Area but we do have agents that service the rest of New Zealand. Click here to find an agent in your region.
What if I give you the incorrect measurements, can you fix it?
We will do our best to fix them. We have a lot of experience in-house and will try to sort it out for you (we want our blinds to look their best too!). We can shave millimetres of the side and reduce the blinds in length if necessary to make them fit. If you realise you have given us the wrong measurements closer to the completion date or on installation we can remake your blind at a discounted cost.

What is the difference between Reverse Roll and Regular Roll?
Reverse Roll is our most common and is described as 'The Waterfall Effect' - this roll is perfect for any style of window as it allows a gap between the fabric and the window allowing for protruding handles or latches. It looks the most seamless.
Regular Roll is where the fabric rolls directly on to the window as much as possible. This roll will show through the componentry when looking straight on at the Blind.

What type of custom print can I use for Roller Blinds?
At Brightshine we can print any high resolution image or pattern on to your blinds.
You can choose an image from istock.com, shutterstock.com, gettyimages.com or any other rights managed site, or your own image and we can print it on to your blinds. Great for adding your own style to these minimalist blinds.
You can also decorate children’s rooms without ruining the walls and have a bit of fun with fully customising your own look. These blinds are more expensive than the regular roller blinds and we need to ask you a few questions before we price them.
If I use the website quote tool, is the price it gives me the final price I pay?
Once you get a quote online and submit it, we will process your order within 24 hours and reply to you with any final amendments to your price, this could include delivery costs or our D.I.Y discount.
Do you manufacture thermal Roller Blinds?
The only true thermal blockout roller blinds on the market has a silver backing facing the window. Cold air will still come in around the sides if mounted inside the window frame and potentially through the top of the blind between the roll and the top of the architrave. The fabric used is very complex and gloves have to be worn to even work with it. It is also extremely expensive. Our blockout blinds are as thermal as any of the others on the market. They have a PVC backing to them that keeps the heat in/the cold out and they provide a good level of insulation. No blind solution will be as good as a curtain, however blockouts would be the next best thing.
What are your payment terms and conditions?
If you avail of our free measure and quote service with one of our reps in Auckland, then we require 50% deposit upfront with the remainder payable on installation. Our reps carry mobile EFTPOS with them on the road making it easier for you to pay your balance on installation.
If you order through our website or via the phone then we require 100% of the Total payable upfront before we process your order into our factory.
How long does it take for my blinds to be made?
Our turnaround time is approx. 10 working days once payment has been received and cleared.
I have just ordered Shutters when can I expect to get them installed?
The shutter turnaround time is 8 weeks from when payment has been received and cleared.
Why does it take so long to get my blinds made?
Our blinds are all custom made here in our factory, so unfortunately as they are custom made they do take that little bit longer as we want to ensure the end product is to the highest quality specification for YOU.
How much will delivery be?
- North Island - $35.00
- South Island - $45.00
Who can I expect will deliver my blinds if they are being sent by a courier?
We use fliways for our courier service for the North & South Island excluding Auckland.
Can I pick up my blinds from your factory?
Yes of course, let us know whenever you are making your order that you would like to pick up your blinds from our factory so we can ensure we do not charge you any delivery charges.
I live in Auckland but I don't want somebody to fit my blinds, would I be able to get them dropped off at my house?
Yes of course, if you order blinds either via the phone or our website and would like to install them yourself but need them to be dropped off at your address do let us know when your are placing your order so we can charge you the correct delivery charges and organise that for you.
Who will install my blind?
If you have a measurement appointment set up for your home then the same rep that comes and measures for you will follow you through the whole process and install them for you.
When can I get my blinds installed?
Providing you live in Auckland, as soon as your blinds are finished here in our factory we will get your rep to call you ASAP and organise an appointment for installation.
Can I change the date of installation?
Yes of course you can! If you would like to change any appointment date within 2 hours of the current time please call us on 0800 483 638.
How long does it take to get the blinds installed?
Depending on how big your order is that will correspond to the time it takes to install them.
I have a blind the cord is broken, will you fix it for me?
We only repair Brightshine Blinds, so if you have purchased your blind from us then we can repair it for you no problem. If you have another brand of blinds, then unfortunately you will have to go back to the supplier to see if they will be able to mend it for you.
I ordered a blind from you and it got damaged during delivery?
If this has happened to you, let us know ASAP so we can look into it and organise for this problem to be fixed.
Our blinds are insured and if we have arranged delivery through Fliways then it will be covered. We will manufacture and send you a new blind immediately and then we will claim for the damage through Fliways.
The blind I received is not the same blind I ordered, will you fix it?
If this has happened to you let us know so we can look into your order and rectify the issue ASAP.
I want my blinds cleaned, would you be able to clean them for me?
We clean and service Brightshine Blinds in Auckland only, so if you have our blinds, then of course we can clean them for you. If you have other supplier’s blinds then unfortunately we cannot clean your blinds as of our policy change in November 2013.
Our charges are below:
- Call out Fee: $80.00
- Aluminium (per blind): $20.00
- Wood Venetians (per blind): $45.00
We do not clean roller blinds.
Will my guarantee cover the repair work needed for my blind?
Our guarantee is for three years after you have purchased your blinds, if anything happens to your blinds within that time frame we will repair them free of charge. If you have just fallen out of your warranty then give us a call and we can give you a price for your repair.
